The Office of Training and Workforce Development is housed within the Division of Policy, Planning, and Measurement of the Administration for Children’s Services (ACS). ACS protects and promotes safety and well-being of New York City’s children and families by providing child welfare, juvenile justice, and early care and education services.
The James Satterwhite Academy and the Workforce Institute offer a diverse selection of in-person and virtual instructor-led trainings and eLearning programs to support the ongoing professional development needs of direct service staff and supervisors at ACS and its many partner agencies across the child welfare and juvenile justice sectors.
The Office of Training and Workforce Development has state-of-the-art training sites in each borough in New York City that are easily accessible by public transportation. Our training centers are equipped with simulation rooms and cutting-edge technology to provide learners with the skills they need to support children, youth, and families.
The Office of Training and Workforce Development is committed to supporting ongoing professional development in a safe manner for all learners and facilitators. Concerns about COVID-19 are taken seriously, as is the desire for many to resume in-person learning. Classes held at all OTWD locations offer wipes and hand sanitizer at each table. Masks are available in each classroom for any who want them. If you have questions, please contact JSARegistration@acs.nyc.gov for James Satterwhite Academy courses or the Workforce Institute Help Desk at email@example.com or (212) 748-1898 for Workforce Institute Courses.
