Attachment and Bio-Behavioral Catch-Up (ABC)

This learning program is an evidence-based intervention that works with infants, toddlers, and their primary caregivers, to support healthy brain development in young children who have experienced early adversity. As part of Strong Families NYC, Attachment and Bio-behavioral Catch-Up (ABC) will be provided to infants and toddlers in the foster care system, both while in foster care and when the child returns home or is placed with another permanent resource. Infants and toddlers from 6–48 months old who have been placed in any regular family foster care program can participate with their primary caregiver — their parent, foster parent or other full-time caregiver. The program also includes follow-up coaching support to ensure effective implementation. Learners are not required to have prior formal coaching experience or training.
