LGBTQIA+ Foundational: Include, Empower and Affirm

This learning program promotes the permanency and well-being of LGBTQIA+ (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Questioning, Intersex, Asexual and many more) young people involved with the Child Welfare and Juvenile Justice systems. Learners discuss the experiences of LGBTQIA+ young people and practice creating affirming environments and responses for them and their families. ACS policy requires all staff who have contact with families and children to complete this course. Upon completion, staff are required to complete LGBTQIA+ Refresher: Improving Outcomes for LGBTQIA+ Young People once every two years. Before attending this virtual instructor-led training, learners must complete an online pre-test and an eLearning training.
